Nixon appoints LaBeth to Truman board of governors
- LaBeth, of Kirksville, subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate.
Kirksville resident and Heritage House Realty broker and realtor Mike LaBeth has been appointed to the Truman State University Board of Governors, according to a press release from Gov. Jay Nixon’s office.
The board “is the highest policy-making body of the university” according to the release, which lists LaBeth as a former president and vice president of the Kirksville Chamber of Commerce and board member of the Kirksville-Regional Economic Development, Inc.
LaBeth’s terms expires Jan. 1, 2019. He takes the place of Ken Read, owner of Heritage House Realty, whose term expired Dec. 31, 2011.
Read had served since June 2007 and had most recently been the board’s chairperson.
LaBeth, a Republican, will be subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate.
